But I need to plug into the internet at least once a day to recharge my batteries! CHIII!

In the words of the inestimable Pickles, motherdouchebag.

Apparently the wonderful people who had our new apartment before us forgot to turn off their cable service. Which means we can't get internets until they realize their mistake and shut it off. And Comcast can't be arsed to tell us when that is--we have to call to check.

NEED INTERNETS. NEED. I'm seriously about to start bawling at the thought of multiple weeks without unmonitored internet access. This is also BIG TIEMS ISSUE because I'm on paperless billing for everything--I need internet access to pay my bills and monitor my bank account and read porn and post fanfiction and download manga.

At least the Comcast Live Help Chat passed the Turing Test, even if 90% of "Ingrid's" responses were copypasta. And I was good and didn't ask her to give me Verizon DSL's number when she said "Is there anything else I can do for you?"

Mother DouchBag indeed! Holy crap, no internets?! That is totally not right and I can't believe you have to wait until the ex-tenants turn off the cable. Is that normal procedure? Blah, they should just keep billing those guys and still get you all hooked up. I mean, double proceeds for Comcast. What more could they want?

You'd think. But no, Comcast says there can't be two active accounts at the same location. Right now, I'm hoping one of our neighbors there has an unsecured wireless network we can leach off of.

If you know anyone with a laptop that can acess wireless Webbernet stuff, see if you can borow it and check coffee shops and/or Dunkin Donuts. There's also a thing (thirty-some bucks, though) which enables you to access the Internet from a Nintendo DS, using the touchscreen as a keyboard. You'd still have to look for WiFi areas.

Why am I sending you a message on the Internet when you don't have the Internet?
