It's Like Magic (Knights)!

chibi_trillianMiserable depression purged. I'd delete that disorganized mess of bleh, but then I'd probably lose the joy that comes of putting the bad bits of your life down on paper, where you can look at them and go, "Well, then, that's not so bad, I'll figure something out."
I do want to pursue graduate school, but I am very much not sure how to pay for it. My college is one of a handful in the nation that offers a Master's in Forensic Science, and I'd love to do that for a living. Otaku CSI, yeah! Seriously, I've wanted to work in forensics since middle school, when I saw an apisode of the X-Files where Scully was doing an autopsy and I went, "Gee, I want to do that when I grow up!" I was a weird child.
I hear the massive chorus of "WAS?!" Shut up.
Anyhoodehoo, I'm working on a bit of Magic Knights Valentine's Day fluff for plotbunny_tiff. Early, I know, but it was a cute idea. I'm having a hard time keeping it PG-13 so that Ashe-chan can read it, but I've managed thus far. psychoteffy has not given me her specifications for Christmas fic number two, so no progress on the smut front.
I love writing Aere, Imiel, Nelon and the rest of the Magic Knights crew. It's hard to believe each of them started out as a randomly generated description on SeventhSanctum.com. This whole RPG started out from a challenge issued to see if we could play randomly generated characters through a randomly generated plot. We've poured our souls into these guys, created a world around them, and turned them into people. I've even drawn a map of Teim, Aleria, and surrounding coutries, with details showing troop movements of the Witch-Queen's army and landscape features, including wizard-gates and castles.
Ashe-chan has become our new villain (as our original one bailed on us) so the Knights should start actually fighting soon in the RPG, instead of just doing character development. Not that there's anything wrong with character development. Chibi loves character development. But the Knights are, well, knights, and they need to start fighting sometime. So it's time for Aere, Nelon, Imiel, Dean, and Bastien to go forth and smite stuff. Well, Ice Knight Aere, Song Knight Nelon, Fire Knight Imiel, and Water Knight Dean will go forth and smite stuff. Bastien, spirit medium, librarian, researcher and all-around tech support character, will stay at home and figure out what they need to do to smite stuff more efficiently. This is why Bastien is (nominally) in charge--because he's the smart one.
