ARG. My con pants are wearing out--not a surprise, as they were secondhand and well-worn when I got them. But they have a lot of art on them that I really don't want to give up wearing. So, I have options:
~sew the worn-out spot shut, knowing the area around is nearly as threadbare.
~patch them.
~ignore tear, only wear pants on very special occasions.
~cut pants up, sew artwork onto a jacket/into a cape or something. Unfortunately, I already have a jacket that gets pretty much all of my wearing-type love.
~retire con pants, get new pair or something else to be drawn on.

In better news, I finally finished all of my May 15th requests. Yay!

You should take a picture of your pants and take it from different angles so you can really capture them, then encase them in a glass frame so they will live forever and entrance people as they enter your apartment.

Ooo, I have a fic. for you ^.^ Here it is. Hope you enjoy it ^.^

My old con pants were in a similar shape. I love them dearly but the more I patched them the more they ripped in other places. I just retired them and started a new pair of "con pants" which I will actually be breaking in this weekend at Anime Boston.

I would go with the option of "~retire con pants, get new pair or something else to be drawn on." But, you could always bring your tried and true pants with you to cons and add artwork onto them as well. Just to keep them around and a part of the action. Or frame them, even! I framed my old softball uniform my high school team signed and it makes a cool decoration :)
