Summary: Alcohol abuse.
“Careful, shitty cook. If you don’t slow down, you’re going to pass out in front of your precious Nami-san like the lightweight that you are.” Zoro looked bemusedly at the chef, who was already looking a little soggy around the edges. It’s what he got for trying to keep up with the heavy drinkers onboard. Nami was currently laughing at Usopp for trying to do the same, offering the surrendered sharpshooter a glass of water that she was kind enough not to charge him for.
“I don’t need your advice on drinking OR my love life, marimo-head,” Sanji hissed, and Zoro had the distinct mental image of a housecat bristling at a tiger. A still-sober tiger. The only person on the Going Merry who could outdrink Zoro was Nami, and he swore both of the witch’s legs AND her boobs were hollow.
Still, it was Nami that Sanji was trying to impress with his alcoholic manliness. And he’d be intolerable tomorrow if his hangover was entirely in vain.
“You don’t need my advice, dartboard-brow? Fine. Let’s have a drinking contest, you and me.” Sanji’s flushed face paled slightly at the dare, and Zoro crooked a half-smile at him.
“Fine. Let’s go.” Sanji couldn’t let a challenge slide, especially not in front of Nami. Good kitty.
Zoro went through the motions of topping off both of their mugs. He slipped his finger over the mouth of the bottle when he tipped it over Sanji’s tankard, though, and just enough booze to make a splash went into the mug. Sanji looked shocked for a moment, and Zoro glanced over at Nami before smirking at the blond. Nami would almost undoubtedly catch the ruse, but Sanji’s “victory” would impress Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper to no end and Nami would probably humor him for amusement’s sake.
Sanji’s eyes narrowed, and as he lifted his drink he mouthed a silent Thank you at Zoro.
Zoro grinned. “Cheers, cook.”
“Cheers, swordsman.”
