Well, Otakon kicks off in about a week. The fanfic panel is still a go, and it'll be at 1:30am on Friday night/Saturday morning in Panel 1. I'm so excited!

Our cosplay group has suffered serious budget-related attrition, but we've still got some Strawhats. Cosplay ought to be fun, if ghettofantastic.

Anybody coming to Otakon from out of state have any Baltimore-related questions? Restaurants? Transportation? Weather? Likelihood of being arrested for cosplaying or asking directions? Ask away.

*cheers* I so can't wait for this panel, it sounds like it will be a lot of fun to sit in on!

Questions? *raises hand* Yeah, my party is coming from our hotel in the Westview area to Otakon. Would it be better to drive and find some parking somewhere (and if so, do you have any suggestions?), or is there some mode of public transportation that would work. I spent the afternoon looking at MTA maps, and I am thoroughly confuzzled. o.0 No clue how to get to where when... XD;

Thanks!

DO NOT TAKE THE BUS. Baltimore's public transportation system is nightmare enough for the people who live here, let alone visitors. O_o

You're better off driving. Fortunately, there are like ten parking garages (http://bccenter.org/about/dt_map_web.htm) within a block or two of the Convention Center, and most of them charge nearly the same thing, so we tend to park wherever's convenient when we drive down to the Harbor.

Once you get parked, don't worry too much about getting lost. The Convention Center during Otakon is hard to miss, no matter where you park--follow the catgirls and cosplayers. XD

Wow, I'm glad I asked. 'Cause we were planning on doing the bus thing... o.o; Hm. Any rough idea of how much it would cost to park for the day in one of those garages?

The most expensive one I've seen has been $20 if the worst happens and you lose your ticket. They usually average $9 to $16 for a day. Considering that MTA day passes run $3.50 apiece, if there's more than two of you you're probably either spending the same amount or only a little more.

Oooo, you get to give them a late night showing of fan fics. Everything looks good when they're Ghettofabulous ^.~ I can't go to Otakon for I am nowhere near Baltimore U.U, so be sure to have lots of fun and cosplay get togethers and the works ^.^

Ghettofabulous cosplay usually doesn't turn out too well unless you really ham it up, like Cardboard Robot Man and Duct Tape Vash. I'm hoping it all goes okay. I plan to have fun no matter what. ^_^

You're my favorite Lufficita ever. Nobody tackleglomps like you. ;_;

And at least you'll have fun cosplaying on Friday with Herr Sparklybutt [livejournal.com profile] asherhyder.

SCORE. We're "Fanfiction: Succeed or Die Writing" on the program. At this rate, we might fill up the first two rows in the panel room! We're competing with the hentai showings, though, so I'm not hoping for much. XD
