1. I'd love to see more weird pairings and nakamashipping. Then I wouldn't feel so lonely.

2. If we're including FF.net in the fandom, Mary Sues. O_o As far as LJ-only fandom goes, hmmmm...uhhh...snaps, I can't think of anything that really pisses me off off the top of my head. Such a cop-out answer, but it's true. I don't even mind the amount of ZoSan, because most of it is so good.

3. Emotional investment. Or crack. Or creative use of Logia powers.

4. Probably the Pirate Buggery Cocktail Party, followed closely by my panel and the pirate raid on the Naruto meetup. XD

The Real, True Story of How Smoker/Zeff Came to Be:

When onepieceyaoi100 was having its "Pirates and Marines" challenge, I had some friends over and we started discussing it. From tarvosio's lips spilled the pairing as an example of the crackiest Pirate/Marine pairing he could think of, and the room turned to me in unison and said "WRITE IT. And make it make sense." And I did go "LOLerskates!" and write the very first Smoker/Zeff drabble.

Afterwards...it just kind of stuck. The pairing started off as a joke, but I started writing more of it, and Metta-chan did some art for it, and I fell in love with Smoker-kins and Young!Zeff, and now they won't get out of my goddamn head and part of my brain crackily insists that it's canon.

Hey, at least Smoker/Zeff gives me something to throw at people who tell me that Sanji/Usopp is weird. XD

1. Johnny, though I love Yosaku dearly. I used to like them both equally, but then I saw the filler arc with their backstory and Johnny edged out Yosaku by like one percentage point and a Mohawk.

2. People are going to shoot me for this, but probably the current one with Water 7 and Enies Lobby. Everyone's really grown a lot in this arc, and it's made me cry more than any other arc, including the Drum Island arc. Hell, just finding out how Gear Second works nearly made me cry, because Luffy's hurting himself badly for his crewmates and he doesn't care. Luuuuuuuuuffyyyyyyyyyyyy... T_T

Plus, it has SOGEKING. I'm enough of a Sogeking dork that an Usopp cosplayer's Kabuto at Otakon got a hug before they did. XD

3. NEVER. SMOKER/ZEFF WILL LIVE FOREVER AND EVER, AMEN.

Plus there've been hypotheses thrown around that Blackbeard is either uncle or father to the D. brothers, so that's doubly squicky. 1. Why are YOU asking ME for writing tips? That Powerpoint is pretty much a stream of my pet peeves. XD Ummm, writing tips...get as far inside the character's head as you can. Duh. I'm a dork; I've actually sat up nights looking for insights into Zoro's character.

Make a "Notes" file for each fic where you throw all your questionable writing--stuff you don't want to delete but that isn't really that good. That way you can take it out and go, "Well, maybe I'll salvage it later," and appease the part of yourself that goes "I spent too much time on that to delete it!"

I personally like always having some kind of plot or emotional development in every fic, but I've read some smokin' PWPs, so your mileage may vary.

Write down good ideas as soon as you get them, because they go stale damn fast. O_o

I can't think of anything else, other than that taking a creative writing course is good. *writingtard*

2. It's Sanji/Usopp. I loves me some ZoLu, but I love SanUso more.

Zoro left the kitchen, whistling to himself as he went below deck. Cleaning up all the knifes, rope, and broken shards. Once they were all cleaned up, and the knifes were put away, he left the kitchen.

Going down below, Sanji made his way to the bathroom. He had a difficult time though, due to blood loss. Cleaning up, he turned so he could read what Zoro carved into his back. When he saw what it said, he started to cough. Backing away from the mirror, he ran out of the room and into his bunk, curled into a ball, shivering, holding back tears.

His back read, “ Property of Roronoa Zoro “

4. ALABASTA AND SKYPEIA. 'Nuff said.

And not long after I read those parts of the manga, Metta-chan asked me for a fairy tale, and I came up with the story-in-a-story in this fic (http://chibi-trillian.livejournal.com/59293.html), and everything snowballed from there.

I dearly love Sanji/Usopp because they're both such romantics at heart, and because Usopp is the only crewmember Sanji is really best-friends-type chummy with. Zoro's his rival, and Luffy's his captain (and a dumbass), and Chopper is cute and looks up to him, and the girls are his untouchable goddesses, but Usopp...he's just himself. He's full of shit, he runs away from things, he needs rescuing more often than the girls, but he's also got skills that Sanji doesn't, and Sanji respects that. Sanji doesn't have to try to impress or compete with Usopp, and I think that's why the two of them get along well in canon.

2. Nami. Hands down. Nami only plays one game with her crewmates, and it's called "I Win."

3. Movie Six. The hair alone brough me massive love, and I'm actually a big fan of Samurai Champloo's animation style. Though Nami's apparently polished antigravity boobies animed the living hell out of me.

4. Wadou Ichimonji is female because she reminds me so very strongly of Kuina. Sandai Kitetsu is male because he's a horrible bastard and a pervert. Yubashiri is female because she's light and graceful, though she's very close to being neuter in my mind. Really, it was just how I've always felt about the blades, and I can't explain it well. X_x

1. Sanji/Usopp. Really, One Piece has eaten my soul to the point that I'm almost fandom-monogamous. XD

2. Shota and lolicon, incest (especially heterosexual incest, because that's got the potential for kids), scat, and watersports.

3. FOREVER. I started out reading Star Trek slashfics when I was about fifteen.

4. I love Usopp/Kaya to very tiny pieces. I'm accepting to all het pairings, though especially ones where Sanji gets hardcore pwned by the girl(s) in his life.

5. Nothing. The magnificent thing about the Smoker/Zeff pairing is that it happened sixteen years in the past (way back in the day when Smoker was still a cadet and before Zeff had his own ship) and foreshadows Smoker/Ace pretty heavily. If Ace found out...he'd probably send Zeff a fruit basket and a thank you note. And Smoker would be mortified. XD
