I always forget how hard it is to carve a curve into a hard, round gourd until I actually try to (at least I didn't put the knife through my hand again), so I am impressed.

A damn shame, though I thought about fashioning something out of cardboard--slice off the top of the pumpkin, stick a round piece of cardboard in, put the top of the pumpkin back on. But then I realized I'd pitched all my leftover cardboard, and I cried.
