A sad day for Science.
Jun. 13th, 2007 10:27 amYou know, three people were responsible for my lifelong love of science. One of them was my mother, who pushed me early and often in that direction--at an age when most little girls got Barbies, I got a rather pimping microscope for Christmas.
One of them was actually Bill Nye the Science Guy--his show and a series of environmentally conscious science teachers helped me to wind up working where I do today.
The third one died yesterday.
Adios, Mr. Wizard. May a flight of hot air balloons made with paper bags, string, and candle nubs sing thee to thy rest.
