One OMGWTFBBQ of a weekend.
Jul. 17th, 2007 11:00 pmAaaaaand I'm back. Our internet got hooked up this evening by a cable guy that reminded me of Jyabura's evil twin...wait, Jyabura IS the evil twin. This guy was the nice one.
Short update of the weekend:
Bad Things
Move: sucked.
Movers: dicked us over.
BGE: late switching our electric.
Car: incinerated a rear brake pad somehow, now making noise that makes me want to punch babies.
Cable dispatcher: idiot who lead to two-day delay in reestablishment of internets.
Goldfish: nearly died.
Computer: suffered mysterious fan failure, overheated.
Laundry: needs doin'.
Laundry room key: MIA.
Old apartment: still has things in it.
Nerves: shot.
Good Things
New bed: squishy and came when it was supposed to.
Vivi: cute and adjusting well.
New furniture: nice.
View from new apartment: excellent.
Goldfish: recovering nicely.
Computer: apparently just needed dusting.
Our friends: awesome for stepping up when what was supposed to be an hour or two of light lifting followed by much drinking turned into four hours of frantic packing.
Job: unofficially told about being put in for a promotion.
Website: Version 1.0 almost live thanks to
desyhand.
Otakon: almost here. :D
ETA: PSA for those who have been to Otakon before and know of what I speak: the Burger King directly across the street from the Baltimore Convention Center has CLOSED. If you were planning on relying upon them to stretch your food budget and preserve it from the depredations of Harborplace prices, you are SOL. You gotta hike up to the Mickey D's near Power Plant for cheap fast food now.
