Slate Magazine pimped the Darkon documentary.
Those of you following the adventures of Chaka and Pell in Metal!verse already know that Tiff and I were in Darkon and are possibly somewhere in the background of this movie (faaaaar in the background. Drunk, most likely). The campout that the climax of the movie was filmed at was by far the most miserable Darkon weekend of my life. Freezing rain alternating with sleet, not enough firewood, and temperatures in the twenties at night reminded everyone why we don't normally do late November campouts. I was glad when they torched the castle on Sunday because for the first time that weekend I managed to be both warm and in character at the same time (we wound up dropping character and checking into a hotel for Saturday night because my entire mercenary company voted that we were cold, wet, and wanted waffles. Spartans we weren't).
Sometimes I think about going back out again, because I miss Spack and Riggs and Dogg and the whole crew. But then I remember that it involves getting up early on Sundays and playing politics with retardedly dramatic people after tabletop gaming until late on Saturday, and decide that I'd rather sleep in. >>;
