The appraiser came out and took a look at my car. It was worse than I thought.

My much-loved and completely paid-off '98 Honda Accord, Essie. She still looks pretty good from this side. The dents you see here are from an old fender bender--that one, Essie came away the winner in a fight with an SUV.

She doesn't look so pretty on this side. She's oozing antifreeze from somewhere near that damage--I can smell it, but I can't find it thanks to the nonstop rain we've been having for the past two days.

My bumper sticker collection. I miss them already.
This is actually where I got hit the worst--it doesn't really look like it because the plastic part of the bumper bounced back, and because I got hit by an older Saturn. You know, the ones with the pointy little noses.

This is where the pointy little nose of that car went--under my trunk. There's actually a Saturn-nose-print on my muffler.

And I was dumb enough to drive home with my car like this. It's a miracle nothing fell off with the amount of frame damage she has. If I'd been driving an older vehicle, I'd be in traction now. As it is, I actually got hit hard enough that it broke my seat and splattered the drink I'd had in the cupholder across the inside of the windshield. The appraiser said the car was probably totaled as soon as he saw the damage in the trunk, and recommended that I clean it out so they could haul it off tomorrow. Oy. ;_;
