Clinton indicates that she's open to the idea of being Obama's VP.

Drag the primaries out to the end, divide the party, rile up your supporters to the point where they'll vote for McCain if you lose the nomination, and use that bloc of irrational, unthinking voters as a bludgeon to force a man who doesn't like you very much into making you the second-most-powerful politician in the US. Essentially, Clinton may have lost the battle, but she's won the war. I wouldn't surprise me if she's been planning this since Obama first started getting a serious lead on her.

Well-manipulated indeed. Machiavelli would approve.

...

I wish I could say I was speechless, but I'm not. In fact, I have an enormous string of profanities on the tip of my tongue at the moment.

That being said, uttering them would mean the end of the universe. I think I'll just simmer a bit. >_<

If you really want to get worked up, sit down and think about the fact that she not only played the latter half of the Democratic primary season like a goddamn harp to force Obama to offer her the VP seat, but that she took a Democratic shoo-in of a general election and turned it into a close race by systematically destroying Obama in the Democratic primaries, thus making it impossible for him to tell her to fuck off and die because he NEEDS her voters to win.

Hopefully - I read that and it made me depressed for her, considering you know, he might not offer.

Oh, he'll offer, all right. She's got a loaded gun pressed to his head in that he WILL lose the election if he doesn't do exactly what she wants him to.

US Presidential election stuff. Senator Obama won the nomination for his party last night, and Senator Clinton is refusing to concede that he won. I'm being either intelligent or paranoid and saying that she knows precisely what she's doing and is going to force her way into being the Vice Presidential candidate despite the fact the Obama is personally unfond of her.

hey, lurker here. but i had to weigh in. the 2008 election was THE time for the democratic party to rally and unify and all that good nonsense to try and shift the way things had been going since 1980 and I feel like they blew it. yet again. i'm just glad she didn't try to still get the nomination through a court battle. I'm sick to death of elections being determined by court officials.

He doesn't even like her because she's been a horrible person these past months and now he's going to have to make her his running mate!!! arg. it disgusts me. part of me wants to declare the system broken and dead and wash my hands of it; and yet I know I'll still be watching the GE coverage, with fingers crossed that McCain won't get it. Oh, she makes me so angry.

/end rant.

And THEN Obama mysteriously deceaces in a freak accident involving a live mic, a python and a champagne fountain, and guess what?

Seriously, if I were Obama, I'd leave off hiring a presidential speechwriter until I hired a presidential foodtaster...The latest polititical vibes seems to indicate he wants to give her some job associated with healthcare (to quote a quote from the BBC, "When we finally win the battle for universal healthcare in this country, she will be central to that victory.") But she'll go for VP.
