I remain alive. Barely. I went to go see Kamelot playing with Edguy last night, and the show was way the hell down in Virginia. Then it started late, which was cool because I got there late (thank you Woodrow Wilson Bridge), but that also meant it ended late. Like at 1:30 in the morning. I got home at 3am, showered, hit bed at 4am, got up to go to work at 7am. SLEEP FAIL.

DAMN, ODA. I was all "OH HELL, THOSE R SUM RLY BAD GAIS but it's a shonen manga so the heroes will totes win in the end :D" and BAM! Denied. Heroes pwned into the ground and then flung to the far corners of the Blues. I got a little choked up when Luffy was the last one left because hell, the man draws his strength from his nakama being around him and his need to protect them. The cruelest damn thing in the world would be to have his entire crew get killed and him be left beaten but alive. For a few minutes there, I was worried. >>;

The new arc actually looks interesting--solo arcs for each of the characters? This'll be interesting, especially with the "weaker" characters. The big stompy boys have been stealing the show as of late. >>; I'm really, really looking forward to Usopp's and Chopper's.

Speaking of Usopp: I noticed he's getting better at controlled panicking, as in he didn't run the hell away and leave his friends behind, and when Kuma was advancing on him like Godzilla he had the presence of mind to keep shooting (man, I love Kabuto's attacks. Even if they didn't work versus Kuma, they were still really cool to see). He was screaming like a girl the whole time, but it's definite progress! Also, points for trying to beat Sanji and Zoro over the head with the Common Sense Stick, even though it didn't work.

Speaking of Kuma: Man. He's actually kind of a nice guy. If he'd left the Strawhats there, they'd have been killed, so he removed them and scattered them widely enough that the World Government will have trouble finding them. His ability to punt people through the air so they fly for a day or two even comes with a nice little "airbag" at the end so that people don't get hurt when they hit the ground. I wonder if we'll see Perona again? If he put her and Usopp in the same place, I may laugh myself to death.

In a change of subject: CHRIST what the hell are they going to do about Ace? Luffy, your bro's going to be permapwned in a week and you're still bouncing around on an Amazon island going "LULZ CAN HAS BOAT?" STEP IT UP, MAN, YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE WITH HIS VIVRE CARD. GO SAVE YOUR OLDER BROTHER.

Also: RAYLEIGH. WTF is his Devil Fruit power? Whatever it is, it neutralizes light logia and obviously isn't the Yami Yami no Mi as Blackbeard's got that. Kage Kage no Mi, maybe?

Finally: Hey, the Seme Seme no Mi finally made a canon appearance in OP, even if it was a bitchy Amazon lady who ate it.

OH MAN. I turn TWENTY-FIVE in two weeks. That's a quarter of a century. That's me leaving the 18-24 age demographic. That's...my car insurance rates going down. Well, maybe it's not all bad.

I'm not entirely sure we'll get full solo arcs for each character. I suspect Luffy will return and find all the otehrs going "LOL, what offcreen adventures we all had!" and then move on. But I'd be delighted to be wrong. I can has Nami and Robin arcs nao?

The more we found out about Kuma, the more I wanted Perona back. And, yeah, my first thought was CAN WE HAZ PERONA/USOPP TIEM NOW PLEZE. Because, damn, that would be awesome. But all my thoughts are currently divided between Zoro (just how badly hurt is he and is he gonna do something stupid without the others around to stop him?) and Chopper (bad enough they all got split up and Chopper's gonna take that almost as bad as Luffy, but Oda did you really have to put him in Monster Point before throwing him across the sky? There are so many complications that can come from that that I don't even know where to start!)

Also, happy birthday for two weeks time♥! *confetti parade*

I hope Oda does full ones. Part of me thinks that, since Kuma usually asks people, "If you could go on a trip anywhere, where would you go?" right before poofing them, the Strawhats may well be tossed towards their respective "minor" goals: Sanji near to (or in, holy shit) All Blue, Zoro to wherever the hell Mihawk is, Robin to the next of the Rio Poneglyphs, Nami to some great center of mapmaking, Chopper to an island where the panacea plant grows and/or a great center of medical learning. I don't know about Brooke--he'd be backtracking (or skipping) a LOT if he got tossed all the way to Laboon.

The Strawhats with less tangible goals (like Luffy, Franky, and Usopp) might be tossed to other random places, though I HOPE TO GOD Usopp lands on Elbaf because that would be AWESOME and he's always wanted to go there and I want him to wind up with an army of giants SO BADLY.

This is probably all pipe dreams and wild speculation. Something completely unexpected and cool will probably happen, as that's how it usually goes.

I'm so worried about the others, 'specially Zoro. He just keeps getting beat up without having time to, y'know, recover.

But, seriously Luffy, forget your nakama for a second. Steal a boat and save your dying brother!!

I second the want for Usopp/Perona time as well. :D

Are we ever going to merman island I wonder? Not that I'm complaining, because Oda knows what he's doing and the recent chapters make my eyes water from not blinking in shock and everything.

The Sunny still being on Shabondy (or however you spell it) makes the archipelago the definite place for them to meet up, but did all the crew get a vivre card? I think it was mentioned but I can't remember for sure...I bet Zoro will be first to arrive just to surprise everyone. He'll be okay. He has to be.

WHAT IF WE HAD STRAW HAT COVER STORIES????? Because I'm not sure if we'll get solo adventures for each though I'd jump up with joy if we did.

Ace...well gah. I agree with you.

Happy Birthday! though I'll probably say it again in a few weeks!!!

It's possible that he's blocking the light logia with his chi (Shanks has used his to knock people out before and Zoro grows extra arms using his, so hey, it's capable of a lot), but his nickname leads me to think that he might have some sort of darkness-related DF power. I'll have to look over the "HELLO! I am an exposition chapter!" chapter again when I get home.

The whole crew has Vivre cards for Rayleigh. That should lead them back to Shabondy, after which they should hopefully hit Merman Island, since there's no other way for them to cross the Red Line and Nami's log pose was pointing at it anyway.

As far as Zoro goes, I know he'll survive this, because after the nuclear apocalypse there will be two things left: Zoro and cockroaches. I just don't know what shape he'll be in, mentally and physically. He swore he'd never know defeat again after Mihawk beat him, and he just got completely pwned. D:

I don't know how covers stories would work, unless Oda stretched them out for the rest of the run of the series--cover arcs only get one panel a week, and he's got eight Strawhats other than Luffy to cover. O_o; I really, REALLY am hoping we get individual mini-arcs.

I turned 25 in April and just crawled out of my I-AM-OLD funk just a few weeks ago. But remember, 25 is nothing. Just wait 'til you're 30! That's what one of my friends keep telling me.

I'm starting to think that we won't get separate Strawhat arcs. Considering how long the Luffy one appears to get, it'd go on forever before they're reunited. I'm guessing Luffy will get a boat, end up helping in the rescue of Ace, and meet up with everyone at the Sunny. Which would be kinda lame :(

And gah, Zoro! I actually lost a couple of hours of sleep over him and his broken body! Does that mean I should step back from One Piece for a while? And I totally fangirled over Usopp and his Cool.
