Hoooookay. That was creepy and uncomfortable, but I promised I'd do it so I shall. ._.

I know I've got a pagan or two kicking around on Ye Olde Flist. I just got asked by a coworker whose wife died last month to research the numbers "11/11"--her date of death, which she'd apparently been seeing (clocks, checks at work, grocery totals, etc.) pretty much every day for a couple of years before her death. I'm assuming I got asked because he thinks I have seekrit occult knowledges and/or I'm the only non-Judeo-Christian-religion-affiliated person in the office.

My immediate (internal) answer was "Oh man, Zoro's birthday!" My cynical, scientific answer is "confirmation bias and coincidence," but I'd feel like a bit of a hoser saying that to a guy who just spent four months watching his wife die of cancer. >>; So I promised him I'd ask around.

Folks, any numerological significance to 11/11?

Errr...Beyond it being Armistice/Veteran's Day? Hmm... It is also St. Martin's Day, which doesn't say much except hinting at pre-christian roots and marks the end of All Souls and the beginning of Advent. Wikapedia doesn't give much info on it besides how different country celebrate it. ^_^;;

err...hope that helps?

"Oh man, Zoro's birthday!"

THIS EXPLAINS ALL.

On a different note: http://globalpsychics.com/enlightening-you/numerology/1111.shtml -- 11:11 apparently is kind of important in Numerology, if you believe in that sort of thing.

Seriously? Dude, I see that number all the time, and it always makes me remember a Rufus Wainwright song. But now I'm slightly creeped out. I figured it was just coincidental that I catch clocks when they're on 11:11.

Does that happen to you? Seeing a certain number all the time?

I don't know anything significant about 11/11, but I do have family members who are very Christian and still predict deaths. One great-aunt with cancer proclaimed her exact date of death a good 10 months before hand and another great-aunt predicts other people's date's of death with surprising accuracy. I think she's right about 75% of the time. Ironically, this is the side of the family that had a member accused of witchcraft back in the Salem witchcraft trials and was acquitted. XD
