Fabric that Should Not Be.
Dec. 30th, 2005 04:58 pmA cracky homage to That Shirt from the Skypeia arc. One Piece isn't mine, blah blah schmeckity schmeck, crossposted to
onepiececrack.
It was the ugliest damn shirt Zoro had ever had the misfortune to catch sight of, and now he couldn’t seem to get it out of his vision. It was like watching someone fall down four flights of stairs while carrying a bag full of eggs and fine china—somewhat tragic, guiltily funny, and impossible to look away from.
The Shirt’s (for it deserved the capitals) pattern drew and repelled the eyes at the same time. Zoro stared at it, trying to figure out what exactly the pattern was supposed to be of. It had familiar elements, but taken as a whole it was impossible to figure out what the images actually were. And it was pink. Eye-searingly so.
Zoro had never claimed to be the most fashionable or classy soul, but he did have a sense of aesthetics, and The Shirt most definitely violated it. Hell, that okama with the hideous makeup would have declared The Shirt ugly. If any girl slept with Sanji while he was wearing it, she’d have to be blind or possessed of a fine sense of pity for the taste-impaired.
Maybe the thin air was affecting what fragmentary sense of fashion Sanji had. Maybe the man was actually colorblind, and had been hiding it the entire time. Maybe he actually found it attractive. Maybe this person wasn’t Sanji at all—one always heard rumors of a race of immensely evil deep-sea dwellers who were capable of taking over the minds of mortal men. The leader of them was supposed to look like a squid-type fishman, and have some strange name that started with a “Kith” sound. Maybe Sanji was possessed, and The Shirt was his way of signaling for help before he was forced to eat the souls of his crewmates. There was only one way to find out.
“Hey shitty cook, what misguided, tobacco-addled impulse led you to put that god-awful waste of fabric on? It looks like an okama’s closet threw up on you.”
Sanji kicked him in the chin. Nope. Not possessed. Bastard. See if Zoro ever showed concern for the health of his soul again.
