Crappy Katsucon Report.
Feb. 19th, 2006 12:59 amSo, I'm broke then. I went $80 over my budget by buying a Sanji resin figure because I couldn't not buy him. He goes with Zoro...and he's pretty...and he's hard to find online...and...and...and...
I also left for the con with one drawing on my pants and came back with at least a dozen more. The most interesting one was
jadeprince illustrating my ass. Literally. There is now a drawing of Usopp on my butt. I also have Mr. 2 Bon Clay love on the leg of my pants. I've got an autograph from a random vendor in the dealer's room, a blessing from the Reverend Brother Pastor Deacon Doctor Nicholas D. Wolfwood, a Zorolet from
kinbu, a random surfer guy, a scribble from a Luffy cosplayer, and
mettathron drew One Piecery down near my shoes.
Plushies Usopp, Sanji, and Zoro went to the con and were enriched by the experience (I hope so, anyway). They all found at least one matching cosplayer to hang out with, and Usopp got snuggled.
mettathron is a glob of happy fangirly goo. I (finally) found a Nami/Vivi doujinshi for
plotbunny_tiff (ETA: Snap. Turned out not to be Nami/Vivi.
plotbunny_tiff still happy, though--bonus Tashigi cheesecake in back).
desyhand made it through a con without crying. All of these are good.
Today was the coldest it has been all year. It was cold as balls, by which I mean Testicles, Greek god of stupidity and ice. I thought I was going to freeze into a popsicle walking back to the metro station. This was bad.
I got an hour and a half's worth of sleep. I had a can of Monster for breakfast. I had a can of Monster and some sugar for lunch. I spent three or four hours so high on caffeine that I was vibrating, and then crashed hard at about 9pm while watching Howl's Moving Castle.
And now,
plotbunny_tiff and
desyhand are screaming "Crystal butt plug! CRYSTAL BUTT PLUG! Of DRAMA!"
I love cons.

Date: 2006-02-20 01:15 am (UTC)My friends did most of the actual talking. All my verbal skills went straight out the window about the time they found out we were yaoi fans. I couldn't think of a single thing to say that wasn't "I love your work" or "You guys are so cool". I ended up saying the "so cool" one a couple of times, regardless. For someone who likes to think they can string a pretty sentence together, I failed miserably at conversation. I probably came across as rude or something. >< At least you have a funny story to show for it. I've just got crosshatching.
