Ups and downs.
Apr. 8th, 2006 03:20 amWell, today was kind of a mixed day.
In bad news, Yuki finally gave up the ghost sometime early this morning. It's not like we weren't expecting it and she outlasted the vet's estimate by seven months (which is damn impressive for a rat), but still. I wish I'd petted her a bit more before going to bed, but I was tired and she seemed as all right as she ever got. We're trying to find somewhere to either bury or cremate her, but it's hard when you live in an apartment. Hyatt nearly gave me an oh-no-not-two-in-one-day panic attack immediately after we found Yuki by being, well, Hyatt. Damn, I hate it when that fish sleeps floating upside down.
In good news, we made a final decision on where we're moving to, though moving right before Otakon will Not Be Fun. I also got to indulge in two of my secret guilty pleasures today (bad hentai and low-budget Japanese horror flicks) thanks to our local Suncoast being in its last ten days of being open. I'm going to miss that store--I spent an enormous chunk of freshman and sophomore years there, and nearly all of my friends have worked there at one time or another. The hentai was actually pirate hentai, much to the lulz of both
plotbunny_tiff and myself--
plotbunny_tiff and
desyhand had been traumatized by it at a con and insisted that I share the pain. The Japanese horror movie was OMGWTFBBQ-tastic, as I expected it to be.
Hey, new icon. About now, I could really use some of that, but I can't touch a drop of that booze on pain of Death by Short Angry Italian Man. Alcoholic colorbar!
I got a fortune cookie today that said, "A thrilling time is in your immediate future." I hope so.
