BARBED. WIRE. TENTACLE. RAPE.
Why, yes, I did see Silent Hill today. Whyever do you ask? O_o
First off: Pyramid Head. Hot damn. I thought
alucardblue was going to spooge his pants when Pyramid Head showed up.
Second: Dammit, why did the wonderfully dykey cop have to die before Rose could get there and save her? There was love there, man. LOVE. You don't beat a man to death with a nightstick for someone if you don't love them.
Third: Special effects. *fans self* Sexy CGI makes me all squishy inside. Well-done, anatomically-correct gore turns me into a squeebling fangirl. Phenomenal makeup, costume design, and creature design all make me a happy Chibificus. Gods, those jerky motions (especially for the nurses) were PERFECT. And the transfers between normal Silent Hill and the hell version were flawlessly and believably done. I could watch those walls melt and reform all damn day. And (though it made me ever so sad) Sybil's burning face was very nicely done.
Fourth: Can I throw something at Rose for not managing to hold on to a single weapon for the entire course of the movie?
Fifth: The girl who did Sharon/Alissa deserves mad props for being the first non-Japanese child actor I've seen pull off the "creepy little girl" right. Blood and stringy hair and that DAMN SMILE.
