I just read that gas is over $4 a gallon in some parts of Southern California.

To all the folks in SoCal with cars: Dude, that sucks. I'm sorry.

Until I read that, I'd discounted estimates that gas would go over $5 a gallon as being alarmist. Now I'm just hoping it doesn't get up that high here. I can't afford to pay $75 for a tank of gas. $45 a tank is already pushing it. On the good side of things, the Maryland MTA might turn a profit this year for the first time in its history.

In related news, oil companies are apparently unrepentant about their unusually high first quarter profits this year.

Awww, see, now they tell a story!

Sanji: "Heeeeey...panties." *drool*

Zoro: "You loser, you like panties! See, I stretch panties in a taunting and hypnotic manner at you."

Sanji: "Pantiiiiiiiies..."

Zoro: "Come just a little bit closer, silly panty-loving cook."

Sanji: "Pantiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiies..."

Zoro: *grabsandsexinates*

Sanji: *SEXPWNT!*

Zoro: "So, dartboard brow, what do you think of panties now?"

Sanji: "Heeeeee, panties."

Zoro: "This is going to take some work."

O_o Yeeep. That sounds about right. I know this one place that only charges like, 2.75 per gallon still. Though, it's always so damn crowded… It’s crazy.

On another note- akjfldjasklfjslad! PYRMAMID HEAD ICON.

Dearest, is there anything, and I mean ANYTHING you want in return for it? *hearts*

$2.75 a gallon? Snap, get me some of that. It's $2.99-$3.05 a gallon around here. I saw people almost get into a fistfight over $2.92 a gallon gas.

Ha ha, I'm glad you liked the Pyramid Head icon. I went to go see Silent Hill again last night and he just gets cooler the second time around.

Nah, I'm good. A happy Flan-chan is its own reward. ^___^

*grumbles* I have all sorts of choice words for the oil companies, none of which are polite.

But OMG, there is a Zoro icon with the panties! *rofl*

That is just wacked out. In Hawaii, they have a law that stops gas prices from going over $3 (they got smart, I think). My dad found a vespa for me that I might get when I get my driver's license and it only needs 2 gallons (which means I may only have to pay $4 for gas). Maybe everyone should trade in their cars for super small, economy cars or for scooters.

The funny thing is, I used to drive a scooter back when gas prices were still sane ($2 to fill up--SCORE!). It was my only mode of transportation year round for two years, so I used to wind up with mild frostbite in the winter. I love my car, but I'm seriously thinking about getting another scooter because damn if it wasn't fun to drive when the weather was nice.

Just remember, take the same precautions on a scooter as you would on a motorcycle--cover all your skin. That means a jacket no matter what the weather, long pants, closed-toe shoes, gloves, and a helmet. Speaking as somebody who's also been in a few scooter accidents and has the scars to show for it, if your scooter goes over you'll be glad for the protection. Road rash is so not fun.

If you've got any other scooter questions, thwap me--I know most of the good and bad bits about owning one by now.

^.^ Thank you, I feel loved that you show concern for anybody getting a scooter. I've always loved them (and my love for them increased when I saw it on FLCL. XD). I bet road rash hurts and burns like hell.

Of course they are. If you are anything less than new-mother proud of your financial success, no matter how you became successful, then the Communists win! Or the terrorists. I forget which. Commuterrorists?

Hey. I would have posted this earlier, but I was without internet for about two weeks. On an up note, my roommate and I are now paying less for the internet than we were before.

Anyway, my Mom sent me this handy little link: http://autos.msn.com/everyday/gasstations.aspx?=&src=net

You put in your zip code and it'll pull up a map with all the gas stations in your area and tell you who has the cheapest gas. Pretty nifty, huh? :-) According to them, my area's lowest price is $2.76 and the highest is $3.09.
