Even though Jack Aubrey and Smoker would get along famously.

Even though Stephen Maturin would spooge his pants and die if he ever ran into Chopper. Or All Blue. Or the Island of Strange Creatures. Or the Grand Line's extensive collection of Sea Kings. Or, heaven forbid, the Spot-Billed Duck Squadron.

Even though Stephen and Jack are nearly more canon-gay than Johnny and Yosaku.

Not writing it. Not ever. Because the universe doesn't need that crossover.

Even though it would be easy as hell to pull off.

I'm a noob and just started reading the books, and oh shiiiiiit but they pwn the movie eight ways from Sunday AND THEY'RE EVEN GAYER IN THE THE NOVELS. IF YOU SQUINT HARD ENOUGH YOU CAN ALMOST SEE JACK AND STEPHEN GOING AT IT BETWEEN SCENES. I'd recommend picking up a guide like A Sea of Words to go with them, though, unless you are fully up on your eighteenth and nineteenth century British naval slang.

Of course, I can't get the thought of Steven and Usopp trading stories out of my mind. They would both weave such fantastical tales...except Steven's would be true.

And as far as Jack and Smoker, they do have so much in common...including glasses-wearing brunettes who exasperate them and boss them around. XD
