The obligatory Cosplay Emergency has occured: my Murderface wig kind of sucked. A lot. So I wound up doing what I had threatened to do and bought foam to carve his not-found-in-the-works-of-man-or-God hair out of. 5" high-density foam, as I discovered to my chagrin, is $45 a yard. But I sucked it up, because dammit I wanted to get this together and looking all right.

While I'm in line with 3/4 of a yard of foam, a Crazy Old Lady comes up behind me with two yards of beaded trim for the curtain in her bathroom. She's very excited about it. She's also excited about my foam. To the point that she asked to touch it. She also has a coupon for 50% off of any non-sale item. She thinks her trim might be on sale, so she asks if she can go in front of me to find out. Bemused, I tell her to go ahead.

Her trim was indeed on sale. So she gave me her coupon, and I got my foam for half-price. Every now and then, cool shit happens for no damn reason.

Now, if my hair thing goes together well, I'll just consider the whole thing a blessed endeavour. :D

Srsly. I know this shit's thick enough to make a mattress out of, but $45 a yard was kind of uncalled for. It was so expensive that it pretty much ate what little was left of my cosplay budget. D:

On the upside, I get to play with knives and utility blades and bandaids. Lots of bandaids. Because I'm clumsy METAL like that. :D
