Chibi can has? :D

....the sad thing is that I would drop $800 on a keyboard that looked that awesome and that I didn't wear the letters off of in under a year (as I tend to do with most keyboards) and I wouldn't drop the same amount on a full desktop set. After all, the keyboard will be with me through MANY computers. >D

Speaking of steampunkery, Trill-Bot IT'S OVER 9000 shall hopefully be here sometime this month. There are no words for how much I look forward to the arrival of said Trill-Bot.

They are! Too bad the one I like best (The Industrial) was a one-off and was sold at auction. D:

Can you imagine how heavy that thing would be? XD My fave was the 'Sojourner', although knowing me, I'd get confused since it's got a different alphabet and likely no home key bumps.

Well, he does mention that the Sojourner has parchment inserts for the letters, so I imagine it could have any sort of alphabet you might like, including Ancient Angstymcgothian (Orthodox). It might have a "Home" key--these are built over existing keyboards, so theoretically all that business is there.

Me, I've been typing on laptop keyboards for five years. Having actual SPACE between keys would come as a welcome relief.

There's a tutorial online how to make your own aviator keyboard! Just pay some more/less craft-wise talented kid like, $200 to make it for you. you save $600.

True that, but once I buy the keyboard (keyboards with old-style mechanical switches are fuck-all expensive), the metal, the parts, a couple of antique typewriters, wood, wood varnish, and all the other parts plus paying some random person $200, I'm knocking on $800 anyway. Might as well let a guy who's built dozens of them do it.
