I am a college graduate now. Graduation itself went decently--I didn't trip, didn't accidentally punch the President of the College in the face, and didn't lose a shoe. Evil shoes.

The lunchity-thingie afterwards was very, very good--I got to spent time with my friends and my relatives at the same time, which made life interesting.

[livejournal.com profile] tarvosio and [livejournal.com profile] plotbunny_tiff made me do a happy butt dance in public, because they got together to get me the Firefly boxed set as a graduation present. [livejournal.com profile] alucardblue got me some tasty wine. [livejournal.com profile] asherhyder drew me a magnificent color picture of Ethan and I'm still going "squee" over it. [livejournal.com profile] psychoteffy and Peanut gave me a purse, some hand creams for my eternally dry hands, and an OMG!cute Edward Elric keychain. The keychain promptly went onto my keys, so I have a FullMetal on my keys. Lady Anu gave me a Truth or Dare game with which to torture people, because I can never think up good prying questions or embarrassing dares on my own. Most of my relatives gave me money and cards. I like money, because it means I have some help on my bills (paying for my phone is a good thing), and I like cards. I refuse to throw cards that people give me away--I keep them in the "Personal--Sentimental" file in my filing cabinet. [livejournal.com profile] jacks_shadow also gave me money and a card, which was really, really nice (booze card, yay!). An uncle who is a notorious mooch actually paid for the lunch, which shocked the pants off both myself and my mother. The lady who manages the restaurant we went to gave me an odd little fish-purse as a present. It's a big fish drawstring pouch, with a smaller fish coin purse inside looking like it got eaten by the purse. It's quirky, but quirky-good. Mister Jim, the porn store owner that I say hi to at least once a week, gave me a graduation present and some business tips, and that nearly made me cry. The present, not the business tips.

I went to HFStival today. I forgot my sunscreen, so I'm lobster red. Not exaggeration--I am so burnt it's not funny. Damn my pasty paleness. I got a Garbage t-shirt, and got to see Garbage's lead singer give an extended panty shot to the the entire stadium (yes, [livejournal.com profile] alucardblue, you missed this). Echo of Echo and the Bunnymen came onstage wasted, fumbled his first song twice, stormed offstage, came back on (carrying a water bottle full of a liquid that looked suspiciously like whiskey), tried a third time, fucked up again, threw the mike, kicked it, and stormed offstage for a second and final time. Got lightly bruised during They Might Be Giants (Mosh pit + TMBG = does not compute, but people did it anyway). Nearly got moshed into a chibi-pulp during Social Distortion, and had a crowd surfer land on me twice. Lady Anu went ghetto on a drunken mosher who was shoving her and threw his bitch ass into one of his friends so hard that he almost broke his nose. Billy Idol is a smex elemental. A late afternoon/evening thunderstorm broke out, and I got rained on thoroughly and wound up drenched and shivering as opposed to the near heatstroke of earlier in the day. We skipped out on Foo Fighters and Coldplay because we were cold and wet and went home early. A good time was still had by all.

Yay indeed. Learning vast quantities of stuff is a marvelous thing, even when your brain's hard drive runs out of space during your last semester.
