chibi_trillianBleach crackity goodness. This plotbunny made me late to work, but it amused me.
“Ichigooooo! Please! You have to, or we won’t be able to compete!”
Kurosaki Ichigo looked down at Orihime’s pleading face, getting a weird internal shiver at seeing it framed in green ribbons instead of those little blue hair pins. She really did look on the verge of tears.
“Kurosaki, Inoue-san is correct. It’s not that great a sacrifice for you—you will need to do almost nothing to your hair or your personality, and I already made your costume. If I have wasted the money I spent on it, I’ll shoot you in the eye.”
Ishida’s glasses glinted evilly as Ichigo whirled to scowl at him. “I’m not wearing your goddamn freak costu—wait, how did you get my measurements?”
The glint grew more profoundly malicious as Ishida pushed up his glasses and smirked. “I have my ways. If you cosplay with us so the Handicrafts Club has an entire matching cosplay group, I might tell you.”
Ichigo could feel his blood pressure spiking as he tried to vaporize Ishida’s twisty little brain from sheer force of glared hatred. He thought he might have managed it, too, if Ishida’s disconcertingly grayish-silver hair hadn’t kept distracting him. Where did you find dye that would do that?
Ichigo’s morbid curiosity about whatever act of stalkerdom Ishida had perpetrated to get his measurements without his knowledge, combined with Orihime’s pouting, combined with the faint, vague guilt he felt from the fact that Ishida had spent money on him chipped away Ichigo’s resolve until it finally crumbled under a particularly poignant sniffle from Orihime. “Fine, I’ll dress up with you for your little geek-fest. No one I know will be there anyway.” I hope. If Keigo sees me like this, I’ll never hear the end of it.
Orihime glomped Ichigo, dropping the two little plushies of a rat and a cat that she had been hugging to her chest. He had to admit, that cute little frilly green dress looked good on her. Ishida held up the costume, having retrieved it from whatever pocket dimension it was that he kept his sewing supplies and his spare capes. Ichigo spotted some last-minute “additions” to the costume, and felt a futile urge to try and salvage some of his dignity.
“I’m not wearing the damn ears!”
“Or the tail?”
“Or the tail, you perverted furry.”
“I spent extra on those. Good fake fur in orange is expensive.”
“I hate you.”

Date: 2005-07-11 05:51 am (UTC)I go by the tag Iron Dog pretty much everywhere (forums, AFF, sites etc.) and I too write fanfics. I only recently started watching Bleach (up to episode 29 before the direct DL site I use went down) after wondering what all the commotion was about it. I'm a junkie now. My work wallpaper is currently Bleach (non-yaoi *sigh*). I'm kicking around the idea to use our fav red/orange haired Death God in a fic for a contest. I'm chomping at the bit for said direct DL site to re-upload all the Bleach episodes so I can watch the rest. Don't even get me started on some of my other anime obsessions *cough* YNM, Mirage of Blaze, Weiss*cough*.
