So does Crocodile have one hand or two? Or maybe just automail? Was he hiding a hand under his hook the whole time? It's a mystery!

Yes. Yes it does. Crocodile is even more fiendishly clever and skilled with his Logia abilities than we thought! I betcha he keeps all kinds of crap in there.

It's a magic space! Like Nami's skirts. I never get how she manages to hide her weapon under those things.

Maybe he used to do magic tricks to entertain young children. And one day he decided that being an evil overlord was more fun.
