Our air conditioning is out. AGAIN. This is starting to become an annual thing, and if it's not ours it's our neighbor's, which can only be accessed by going through our apartment and working on our balcony. And it always craps out just in time for the first really warm days of the year. Since our AC unit is on the ground (though we're on the third floor--don't ask me how this is practical), the problem's probably the same as it was last time--namely, vandalism by the neighborhood kids. RAWR. I hate living next to a playground. Shrieking brats during the day, drug dealers at night, and misspelled profanity scrawled on the sidewalk in brightly-colored chalk (though "ass whole" did make me giggle a little).

Our garbage disposal is also broken, but I'm not nearly as angry with it. It's survived four years with no problems, after all.

The bad part is that all this needs to be fixed before we get the cat--we don't want to hand this apartment complex any more money than absolutely necessary, so we aren't planning on paying pet fees. Next apartment yes, this apartment no.

Dammit, I want to move already.

And on top of that, LJ seems to be having server issues. Faaaaaaaaabulous. *stomps off to go read Lovecraft until she feels better*

ETA: Well, apparently the server issues were the result of a DDoS. I'll be interested to find out who pulled it and why.

Ugh. I fell for you. There are so many children where I live, screaming just like you mentioned. Hopefully you guys are going to move soon? Nothing like that to take your mind off all else. XD

Dude. I'm so surprised I can post this. LJ is being its usual bitchy self. XD

Dude. I rock the English language today. Let's try "feel" this time, shall we? *snickers*

We're not moving until July, sadly. We've been here for four years because this place throws utilities in with the rent, but with the electricity price caps coming off, the rent for a two-bedroom is likely to go over a grand a month this year. Add to that the screaming kids, the drug problem, the bad parking, and the leasing office managing to "misplace" our rent last fall (they served eviction papers on us for that, too--it turned out to be in someone's desk drawer), and you see why we're looking elsewhere. *rawrs in general direction of leasing office*

Yeah, the utilities cap certainly doesn't help. *winces* A grand? Oi. Sorry to hear that, hun. At least July isn't that far off. And then you get the kitty. Always a good bonus.

Nice management office. *eyeroll* Such service it sounds like.

Total suckage right there. I live for my AC and when it's not on, then the whole house feels all humid and icky XP My gabage disposal is very handy for my dad loves to throw actual garbage in it (one time the sink had 2 soda cans, 1 beer, and 1 paper cup). Lets hope that Operation: Hide Kitty works for you.

What's a DDoS? I'm taking it's a bad thing.

Trash down the garbage disposal is a no-no here--if you block the pipes, your neighbors suffer too and the apartment complex has to fix it.

A DDoS is a Directed Denial of Service attack. It's basically a thing a hacker or a group of hackers can do to a website they don't like--they hit the website with millions of queries for information until it either runs over bandwidth or overloads the servers and the website goes down. For a site as big as LJ, the DDoS must have been pretty impressive to make it go down for several half-hour stretches yesterday (or at least, that's the downtime I noticed).
