Ramen: Discuss.
Jun. 27th, 2005 09:33 pmYou know, once you've had real ramen, with meat and vegetables and broth worth eating and fresh-made noodles in a bowl the size of your HEAD, instant ramen just doesn't taste as good anymore. Damn you, ramen shop. Why must you be in Tucson?
On a related subject, I've noticed that no two people make instant (block, not cup) ramen the same way. I add the seasoning into the water before I turn on the heat, cook the noodles in the seasoned water, and pour off the broth.
plotbunny_tiff adds the seasoning to the water with the noodles, adds pepper and other spices as well, and eats the broth.
tarvosio cooks broth and noodles down to a highly flavored sludge.
jacks_shadow makes his Japanese-style with an egg on top.
alucardblue...eats mostly cup ramen and I can't remember how he fixes his block ramen, which means it's either horribly mundane or so strange that I've purged it from my memory lest I go insane. Mmmm...ramen of Cthulu.
