You know you've lived with somebody too long when you don't even ask "What in it?" when they say "Try this." Seriously, I'll eat anything that Tiff cooks without question. I'll just pop it in my mouth like a trusting little lamb, because she's never made anything bad. She's also gradually culturing my Irish-raised palate (wherein there is only one spice, and its name is "salt")--I can actually tell some of the most common spices apart by taste now. I'm such a food philistine. XD

Oh well. At least I knew that buying Tiff a new cookbook for Solstice was a good idea. Yey for Sanji-Usopp roommate relationships.

On a related note: What the hell good is a smoke alarm that goes off every time you open the oven?

Umm, I think the smoke alarm thinks its an oven alarm. Yeah, that's it. It's letting you know that the oven is open. >.> Identity crisis!

More the former than the latter, though I am quite the sucky cook. The alarm responds to sudden temperature spikes as well as smoke--like the kind caused by opening an oven in a small apartment. We connected it yesterday for inspections and disconnected it today, which is pretty typical. So unsafe are we!

Yeah, it kind of is. We've been living together for four years and haven't killed each other yet. I think that's pretty remarkable, considering how abrasive my personality can be. XD

It's really annoying, because the damn thing is loud enough to be heard by our neighbors. Plus, it's hardwired into the ceiling where I can't reach it without a stepstool. Rawr.

Ooo, I wish I could cook for people, but the closest I get to is making Hamburger Helper -__-, which isn't that much cooking. I <3 Salt, it's so yummy and you know those fries at McDonlad's or What-a-burger that are like really flimsy and are loaded with salt *drools* those are my favorite fries ^.^ That smoke alarm must cause you a headache if it goes off all the time. Our alarm went off 3 times last year and it was super loud and annoying and then we couldn't figure out how to turn it off.
