Independence Day fireworks early! Our transformer just went rather impressively. My laptop battery's going to expire before I get anything useful written--damn. I'd really wanted to write some more today. Maybe the power will come back on later.

ETA: Apparently, a truck driver (attempting to turn around somewhere he shouldn't have been) snagged his trailer on our power lines and pulled the pole over with much arcing of electricity and snapping of lines, hence the big badda-boom. BG&E is swearing we'll have our power back by 4:30pm today. I am not inclined to believe them.

4:33pm, EATA: Well, damn. They actually did it.

In the meantime...HAHA [livejournal.com profile] mettathron I TOLD YOU SO.

Love your one piece fics.......its nice to be able to read so many awsome fics and drabbles that are really well written and arn't marry sues....though I do wish their was a community on live journal for all one piece drabbles except for marry sues...

Thank you! I'm allergic to Mary Sues myself. It's one reason why I don't really go to FF.net anymore unless I'm deliberately looking for something bad.

The One Piece LJ communities tend to be a bit better about Sues, Stus, and other horrid plot contrivances than FF.net, but they are rather segregated as far as sorting out by pairing and inclination goes. The fanfic on [livejournal.com profile] onepieceyaoi is usually pretty good, as is [livejournal.com profile] onepieceyaoi100, but I can't say much for the het side of things. Sorry.

Yeah I really don't understand what the deal is with marry sues..their is so many interesting characters for a fic writer to work with in one piece..I could understand occ in a series like saiyuki when their are so few characters...(especially) girl characters (the only main girl characters include the bad guys healer, and his little sister...and the head evil lady but nobody likes her cause shes just annoying..)...(though in that series some of the occs were really weird ..people seemed to think if they meet female versions of them selves they would fall in love with them...personally I think if sanzo meet girl sanzo they would both end up dead...).........I really like yaoi 100 and onepieceyaio crackfic and exchange fic community....theifcooklove is also good but hard to find...they have some really good doujinshi one their thanks to bevin...one were nami and sanji end up switching bodys which leads to a funny part were zoro trys to steal some wine in the morning but is surprised by sanji in nami body...(who is nakid except for his apron while cooking and smoking...poor zoro..)

Gotta love those idiot truck drivers. Had one do something similar here a while back, and it took the company forever to get the electricity back up. I'm glad yours didn't take so long. :D

It surprised the hell out of me--"competence" and "quick service" are not usually the first things that come to mind when I think "BG&E." Maybe what with them doubling our electricity bills they can afford to hire competent people, eh?

XD

I swear, I'm going to get started on your exchange fic today--I'm finally not hyperstressed and I think my attention span has lengthened to the point that I can write things that aren't a disjointed mess of spiky, awkwardly-phrased sentences.

Poor laptop, RIP little dude ;-; Shouldn't truck driver's learn how to tell if their trucks are too big to be in a certain space? At least you have your power back and it is amazing that a company actually kept their words for once.

Well, my laptop is fine (obviously, as I'm writing this), but its battery foesn't last as long as it used to.

Theoretically, experienced truck drivers know better and are good at eyeballing what their truck can and can't fit into. Maybe this guy was new? I feel kind of bad for him--I hoep he doesn't get fired for this.

..sorry
